This installation in the showroom of Moroso at Moss, NYC reveals a tension between the built environment and nature, as flocked and vinyl kudzu grows across floors, walls and windows. Created through accumulation and layering, the project includes new pieces by designers Patricia Urquiola, Tord Boontje, Ron Arad and others. The contrast in scale between the enormous weeds and the miniaturized trees both suggests the threat of nature and creates an imagined space where things are not quite as they seem. Glistening plastic forests that both hang and stand in clusters offer the possibility of a peaceful, idealized space. This installation grew out of previous projects: Lot and A Field Guide to Weeds.
